Description
My granny grew the tallest sunflowers in her garden, and I grow them too. These have a special meaning to me because the sunflower is the Ukrainian National flower, and my father's side of the family is Ukrainian.
When I was drawing these, I thought of the citizens of Ukraine and wondered if I have any family there. My great-grandpa was from the old country, and I remember his coffee... boiled on the wood stove with coffee grounds. I remember drinking coffee with him at his cabin at 100-Mile house in BC. Such a sweet and strong old fellow with a very heavy accent!
Displaying this beautiful sunflower family canvas in your home or office can serve as a beautiful homage to family heritage and a reminder to cherish your own story.
